Get Cozy with CoSE - First-gen Networking Event Sign-Up
Texas State University will be joining universities and colleges across the country to present National First-Generation Celebration on November 8th, followed by First-Gen Week events running through Nov. 12. This is Texas State’s fifth year participating in the celebration!
As of this Fall 2022 semester, first-generation students comprise over 38% of the College of Science and Engineering’s student population.
As a part of this celebration, the College of Science and Engineering (CoSE) will host a fall themed welcome and networking reception for its first-generation students, faculty, and staff on Thursday, November 10, from 9 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., in the Chemistry quad by the Vaquero statue. This event will feature:
- Welcome from the College of Science and Engineering Dean’s Office
- Networking activities
- Opportunity to meet first-gen focused programs, student organizations and resources
- Networking with other first-gen students, faculty, and staff
- Light refreshments (hot cider/hot chocolate and donuts), photo booth, giveaway items, and raffle prizes!
All College of Science and Engineering first-gen students (undergraduate & graduate level) and post-docs are welcome to attend this free event. Faculty and staff in the College of Science and Engineering are also welcome to attend. Advance registration is requested
