Interested in pursuing a future in the Biological Sciences?
Biology is the study of living systems and how they function – from individual molecules to single cells, whole organisms to global ecosystems. Because the biological sciences have a profound impact on questions of concern to human society (such as longevity, environmental quality, and biotechnology), career paths in biology are wide-ranging and versatile.
At the undergraduate level, Texas State's Department of Biology offers majors in biology, aquatic biology, microbiology, wildlife biology, biology and education (for teacher certification), as well as a pre-professional program (pre-health advising).
